Roxas City
Roxas City. The capital city of the Province of Capiz, Island of Panay. Roxas City is the Seafood Capital of the Philippines since it is very rich in different varieties of seafoods, namely, shells: angel wings (diwal), oyster (talaba), tahong, capiz shells, litub, kagaykay, among others; shrimps and prawns; fishes like bangus, bisogo, lapu-lapu, kikilo; and many more.

It is located at the Northeastern tip of Panay Island, 136 kilometer from Kalibo, Aklan and only 3 hours travel from Iloilo City via Bus or L300 Van. The city's most famous son is Manuel Roxas - the First President of the Philippines after the commonwealth period. Its name is in honor of him when then Pres. Elpidio Quirino signed into law the Republic Act No. 603.
Roxas City's economy is agri-based. Farming and fishing are the major activities. It is the center of trade and commerce of the province of Capiz as well as of the northern part of Panay.
